Speech!!!

My speech is what would happen if earth lost oxygen for 5 seconds most people just think that we just wouldn't be able to breathe for 5 seconds but their is much more to it than that. I am away in week 6 so i might not be able to present my speech but i will do it anyway just in case. I am sort of nervous for my speech but not that much as i am only presenting it to my class if i was doing in front of the school i would be way more nervous i am using cue cards because i forget things a lot so just o be on the safe side. I really hope i get to present my speech as i have worked hard writing, editing and learning it but at the same time i am sort of nervous i hope my speech turns out how i hoped it would.

Alycia burton (research project)

Alycia burton has a talent spotting potential in horses. She takes on horses that are considered dangerous they have been abused beaten or just left in the paddock. Alycia has now invested her time rehabilitating them and training them.

From a Facebook photo on her profile page took her by surprise. She posted a small photo of her free jumping. Now she has over 3 million views on her YouTube channel what started out as playing around in the paddock gained her international attention.

Alycia was born in 1988 and raised in the far north region of doubtless bay on New Zealand’s east coast her parents always made her work for things she wanted so he never had any money to have lessons so she taught herself to ride. She lived with 3 older brothers and hard working parents at aged 15 she dropped out of college with no qualifications she found the one job available in her small town and started her working career. Through hard work and dedication Alycia now has a long term lease on a 20 acre property in Karake the property now enables her to take horses her have been labelled useless and now train them

But out of all the horses Alycia has owned banjo has been the most outstanding banjo is also known as classic gold rush because of his unique golden like patches and his world record of jumping the highest jump without a saddle of bridle.

Equestrian job!

In the holidays people paid me to ride their horses!!!i  rode 8 horses each day for 2 weeks since each horse takes 1and half hour each usually more i would wake up at 4 am each day but i would usually finish at around 9pm i just stayed their with all the stable grooms because it was easier. It was really fun since i made alot of money I'm going to buy another horse hopefully. I also broke in a horse this means training a horse that hasnt been ridden before or handled his name is goldie he is a small pony and is really naughty and i fell off a few times but now he is completely safe now.

production

The highlight of the production was all the preparing for it making costumes, rehearsing dances etc. But I really liked the actual night of the production that bit was the best. Maybe they could have done more main parts for people as there were only 6 main parts and 60 people want one of those main parts. I really enjoyed the cantina and chair dance and all of the other scenes as well. I also think that the let it go song at the start of the production could of done with a bit of work as it was a bit rough.

Production

I am really looking forward to the production. I think the best part of the production was preparing for it. To be honest I think I will be mostly looking forward to doing my dance. My mum is coming to watch me on Thursday night. My dad is taking me on Wednesday and my mum is taking me on Thursday.

reading goals

I have completed the family the challenge and got recommended a horse book by my mum. I have also completed the random book challenge and got the silver horse. I was very lucky:). I aim to do the series challenge and classic challenge I already have the book I might read for the classics challenge and I might to that quite soon.

This term I aim to be reading 15 books and I really hope I get lucky in the reading draw. The reading draw is basically a lottery we have at the end of every term and for each challenge we put our name in and then we put our names in for how many books we have read say if I read 15 books I would put 15 pieces of paper with my name on it and only one person wins and they get a $20 book voucher.

American british white park- Research assignment

The breed starts with cows that are very strong and fertile. They usually mature at a weight between 1100 to 1500 kg. The ban raise twins as easily as they raise one calf. These cows are very gentle and are easy to care for. They have a white coat with a few spots they are mostly used for meat. They are very aggressive breeders, but still gentle to handle. 
The calves normally weigh between 70 to 80 pounds and this smaller birth size helps a lot.  But they soon make up for their smaller start with quick growth.  The calves seem to hit the ground running as they are up and nursing within a very few minutes of being born.  The cows are strong milk producers and are protective mothers without being aggressive and mean. 

Equestrian...

You ask me what sport i do i say im an Equestrian, You tell me thats not a sport that easy. You tell me its harmless it takes no skill. You tell me, horses are weak. You tell me we just sit there. You tell me anyone could do it. Well i ask you. Have you trusted something with a mind of its own, an unpredictable animal. Have you fallen 7 ft from a 35mph machine. Have you felt like you could die from one little mistake. Done a dance with something that speaks another lauguage. Ever had a team mate ten times your size. Have you ever practiced 5 hours a day 7 days a week

I think its the best sport out their because its so fun you do differant things with horse such as jumping, dresssage, games, barrel racing, claf cutting ect. I think you should try it because i wasnt even interested in horses untill i gave it ago it opens up alot of oppurtunitess and is really fun. There is many other skills i learn other than rider skills such as equine medicine carig for the horse i also learn all the different type of mucles in a horse and bones. What is fun about horse riding is i met lots of new friends and sometimes when im allowed to stay their till 8:30 pm. My friends and i will hang out toghether and have a competiton.

Production Preperation

I am in the cantina dance. We are half way through  our dance. It is going really well and everybody is paying attention. I have finished my costume and it looks really good. I Think we can get more prepared by helping others learn their lines. I don't have any lines so I am helping my friends learn them I hope to get some lines maybe the next production I do.

I really like let it go because it is a very popular and good song it is sung by Demi Lavato.
I usually don't really listen to music but i really like let it go. Let it go is a song in the animated move "frozen" it has reached 70 million views on youtube.

Egyptian art...

This is my Egyptian art firstly what i did was dye the background with tea then i sketched my drawing.
the hieroglyphics was really hard to dye because you got to much dye on your paint brush and it would go all over the page. I really like the hieroglyphics it is really cool and completes my picture. I think next time i would use less dye and use more natural color that the Egyptians would use. I got the hieroglyphics from a book witch i copied them from

Egypt...

Some of the things i have learned is

• Makeup was an important part of their life. Men wore black makeup around their eyes and women wore green. It was not to look good. It was because they believed that this painting around the eyes would protect their eyes from the Sun.

I probably learned the most from cosmetics and egyptian weapons

Gymnastics

On thursdays at lunchtime we go to Nairnville and do gymnastics this week is our last week so we might be doing something really fun for it. We usually have a air mat, beams and a circuit of lots of other things. I didn't really have a favourite thing. I enjoyed everthing. I improved heaps in my beam  i used to not be able to walk backwards but now i can!

What i learned this week

This week i learned about the ancient egyptians i was researching the topic pyramids and i learned that there are over 130 pyramids it must of taken lots of work to built pyramids as the didn't have anything like trucks to transport the blocks. Im not sure if il remember it but i think i will. Im not sure i remember stuff that interests me but sometime i just forget even if i am interested.

The silver sword

I  was in the silver sword group!

It was written by Ian Serraillier.

It was really good because everyone in our group remembered to read up to the chapter we agreed on but some people didn't bring their books and thats why we didn't unlock crackers until the end.

I really enjoyed this book but sometimes it was very vague and didn't tell us what actually happened witch was very annoying as sometimes i was lost in the story and had no idea what was happening.

Destiny and the wild horses

Destiny and the wild horses is about a girl called Issie. Issie is spending the holidays at her aunts farm where she is training horses. She then discovers some wild horses. They then spend the rest of the holidays taming them. I like all the adventures in the book and i read it by myself.

Holidays!

In the holidays I went to the movies. I went with my friend Grace we went to the Muppets. We went to Roxy a small cinema that had NO popcorn. It was in Miramar. I hated driving there it was a very skinny road and we were always weaving. The movie was very funny but sometimes it got very boring and I didn't really pay much attention. We got ice -creams but we ate them in the first 10 minutes . Overall it was a good day and I would probably go again.

Mission fair!

Our stalls name was the miss hoo haha. We raised $170.60 dollars. We had hair braiding,lolly machine,Guess that chocolate and friendship bracelets. I would probably have less stuff next time because it was hard work when someone was looking around the place. I also won a jar on M&M's they were very yummy and i enjoyed them lots! I would also have less lollies as we didn't even need most of them.

Horse riding

Horse riding is really fun and i really enjoy it. I ride every day and spend about 3 hours there. My horses name is sam. I like competing on sam and enjoy going out to shows i am currently show jumping up to 1 meter. It is a course of 10 jumps you have to remember and it is based on time. Sam is a fast pony and we sometimes win.

Statistics

The areas that i have most improved in is my mean, mode, median  and range.
The things i need to work on are my pie graphs and angles.
The things that helped me to remember things effectively  is what miss Bolger taught me the little saying like mode most common mean is the meanest to do median is like the median and range is like the range of numbers.

Swimming

At swimming i have been learning to swim i have been practising on my breathing and technique. I am in the learn to swim group. the skills i have been working on are my breaststroke and my breathing i am also learning how to swim faster as i am a little bit slow. I am going to really try hard and put a lot off effort into my next swimming lesson so i get the most out of it. I really enjoy swimming i cant wait  till my next lesson.
